Testing Challenge:

The customer required a test system for heavy-duty military diesel engines as well as cross drive transmission power pack systems.

Custom Engineered Solution:

Engineered Solutions designed a cross drive power pack system that included a power pack mounting rig to easily position the pack to the test stand. The system provides a way to accurately test engine performance while also checking transmission shift points, torque converters and clutch performance. Plus, the customer could test throughout the range of vehicle load and engine throttle conditions in front of them. The machine features left and right, heavy-duty, dual eddy current absorbers to accommodate torque and power control. It exhibits improved deceleration due to pneumatic actuated mechanical disc brakes for locked-output testing. Finally, it boasts shift and steer actuators for cross drive transmission steering and an electronic throttle control system.
