Testing Challenge:

The customer required a regenerative, transient dynamometer for research on diesel engines while using it for varying applications. These include industrial applications as well as over-the-road trucking.

Innovative Solution:

Engineered Solutions designed a low inertia, but high torque and high-speed AC dynamometer to test diesel engines from 70 to 670HP. The control system design allows an ethernet cable to connect from the engine to the PowerNet AC system in the control room. This is the sole interface for all operational functions.
